What Really Happened

I would like all of Ralfi's fans to know the truth, exactly what happened to him. In the early 70's, Ralfi met a businessman who wanted to get into the music industry. He contracted with Ralfi and started promoting him. Things went well for a while, but business started to taper off, so the promoter decided Ralfi should go on tour in Colombia to make money.

Ralfi flew to Colombia and was there for almost two weeks. He wrote a letter to our mom, saying that things weren't going according to plan. No one had contacted him for gigs or interviews. On his own, he arranged interviews at various radio stations there. Finally, he was contacted by the promoter's agents. They came to Ralfi's hotel and picked him up to go perform. Instead, they took him to a beach, killed him and left his body there. It was a setup.

Our family was devastated. Adding insult to injury, my sister, Isabel, read in the newspaper in New York that Ralfi Pagan died in Colombia because of drugs. That got me really pissed off. My brother, Ralfi, did not smoke pot. He didn't drink beer, he didn't drink liquor. He was just high off his music. Occasionally, on special occasions, birthdays, holidays, he might have a little glass of champagne, but that's it.

I just want everyone to know the way my brother passed away. It's very sad that a good man, with a love of music, leaves this beautiful world, and a lot of people think he passed away because of drugs. That couldn't be further from the truth. So for those who believe that, I hope this clears it up for you. I want all of Ralfi's wonderful fans to know the truth. I have it all documented, all the paperwork, what really happened to him....where, when and why, and it was all about money.

Some day, these people will get theirs, through a higher power. Thank you, all you wonderful fans. God bless. Qué Dios les bendiga!

  1. I really love your brothers music. His smooth, lovely voice...such a tragedy. How about making a Myspace dedicated to him with his biography, special pics, music and footage along with this important info? That would be wonderful, coming from the people who loved and knew him best.

    3. i never believe i can get a real online death spell caster after all this years of disappointment from the enormous spammers on the Internet who go about scamming people, until i was opportune to meet peter wise , through a close friend Mrs Amadip who he (peter Wise) had helped before in casting death spell on her enemies and recover her ex back ,so i quickly contact him ,when i contacted him with his email via noblespellhome@gmail.com ,i explain how my ex have been giving me problems in my marriage , she never allowed me a moment of peace, all she want is to ruin my marriage and destroy my life ,and i need to end it by getting rid of her and i don't want to make use of assassin in assassinating her because it will be risky so i needed to do it in a spiritual way that's why i decided to contact him , he assured me not to worry that i have contacted the right person at the right time, i co-operated with him, sent him her pictures and her full name and in less than a week my ex was dead. contact him via call/whatsapp +2349059610643

  3. Hello,

I grew up in Brooklyn listening to Ralfi's music. I still do. I took his music with me on my tour of duty in the US Marines. I did not know of his death, very sorry to hear this.

The way I found out, is that I use to hang out with his half brother named Red (Pagan) I met your father, which at that time was with Red's mother in brookyn lady of irish desent (many Irish Puerto Ricans) . It has been a long time so I do not remember all the names. I have lost contact with Red we were very good friends. I been doing searches for Ralfi and came across this page. I did meet Ralfi a number of times when Red and I would go to the clubs. The first time was at the St George Hotel in Brooklyn.

I hope to one day find my good friend Red Pagan. May Ralfi rest in peace and will always be remembered and his music will always be played and listened to in my home and around the world. If anyone knows of the where abouts of Red Pagan, Please have his call me. Phil Rivera 772-646-1049 in Florida. Thanks to all.

  7. Hi Angel. Thanks for posting this. There were so many stories I heard about my favorite Sweet Latin Soul Artist Ralfi Pagan. Many said "It was a car accident in Los Angeles, others in the music industry claims it was suicide over a woman, others said it was over a bad drug deal. I got so sick of it that I stop listening to people. I still play his music on Hard Salsa Radio and on 91.9 FM in NYC. We will also continue to play his music. By the way, I need to update our memorial page for Ralfi I created in 2005 at http://www.hardsalsa.com/ralfipagan.html

I need his place of birth, date of birth and the date of his deceased if you can provide that. If you have photos of you and him and family members, baby pictures shoot it over to us and I post it on Hardsalsa.com You can contact me via the website. May Ralfi Pagan's music is always remembered for generations to generations. RIP Ralfi Pagan. Now we know the truth. He can now rest in peace. By the way Angel, very nice photo of Ralfi.

Only last night while listening to his songs on Youtube did i take an interest in his life and was sadden to find out about his early death. I have become an instant fan and have already began to purshase every song i can find on Amazon.com. I wish i had discovered his music much sooner but as they say "better late than never". I feel humbled and honoured to have these sides to listen to. He has become a firm favourite of mine. Can you tell me if there is any live or video footage of him? I understand he was on Soul Train.

  24. I am crazy late. I never knew what happened to him. My Mama had the 45 of Stray Woman and she used to play it a lot when I was little. I always remembered that song. I didn't know too much about Ralfi Pagan personally, but I remember Stray Woman vividly. It's a shame of what happened to him, but even years later, his music still lives on.

  40. I have been a fan of Ralphi's music for a number of years. I am in my mid 20s so I never got to listen to his records at the time but I think he had one of the most unique, heartfelt and passionate voices of all time. His love songs are some of the most powerful ever recorded. It saddens me deeply to read this piece you so honestly and humbly put across. My heart goes out to you and his family. What a tragedy, and so upsetting that it was never properly investigated. I know that black and hispanic artists were routinely exploited and undervalued in those days by the industry but this is a huge step beyond that and very difficult to learn. 49. Aloha from Hawaii. I just got recently introduced to your brother's music while looking for a particular song on YouTube. After listening to a few of Ralfie's tracks I was like OMG! Where the hell was I when this was recorded? I am 52 and up until last week, I had never even heard of him (although I vaguely remember the song I Like to Make It With You on the radio back in the day, but never knew who recorded the soul version until now). I came on here just to say that a book and a movie needs to be written about the life and times of this amazingly talented and gorgeous man. Not much is known about him other than what's online (and that is not much). There are a generations who don't anything about his music or life (like how he grew up, how did he get into the music biz, did he ever marry, did he have kids, what was the Latin music scene like in the 70s, etc.) I'm a 52 year old soul music (and recently Latin Soul) loving baby boomer. If I didn't know he existed until recently, I can imagine all the Generation Y and millenniums who don't know much if anything about Ralfie. Especially if they were not exposed to Latin or soul music while growing up. Anyway, I will keep your family in my prayers and hopefully you can get a book and/or movie about your brother's life out soon. Plus, putting out a book or movie may also arouse public interest into what really happened to your brother and force a reopening of the case to find out what really occurred that sad and tragic day when his body was found on a beach in Columbia. God Bless. Aloha.

  81. My wife was playing "Didn't Want To Have To Do It", and since then I play it everyday,it ranks with the sweetest and most soulful music i've heard in a long time, and his voice is like Gods Whisper to my ears. I'm so sorry his life was stolen from him,may God bless your families and the spirit of Mr. Pagan.

  98. My dear friends online, My name is Tracy Morgan and i live in USA, California, I have to give this miraculous testimony, which is so unbelievable until now. I had a problem with my Ex husband 6 years ago, because of a new lady who my husband was seeing, he was cheating on me and i could not take any more, this lady came to matter with our lives and my relationship with my husband and this lead to our break up. I was not myself again, i felt so empty inside me, my love and financial situation became worst, until a close friend of mine told me about a spell caster who helped her in solving similar problem. He is known as Dr Amend .I email the spell caster and i told him my problems and i did what he asked of me, and he cast a love spell through the effect of our pictures, to cut the long story short. Before i knew what was happening, within 48 hours my husband gave me a call and told me that he was sorry, for all that he made me go through all this while he left me, and that he never new what came over him, and my ex husband came back to me, i was so happy to have him back to me. Dr Amend also helped me cast a death spell on that lady who took my husband away from me at first, the most interesting part of the story is that am pregnant. Thanks to Dr Amend for saving my marriage. Continue your good work sir, If you are interested in any love spell, death spell etc. you can contact the great spell caster, contact him on Whatsapp +2348118829919, best wishes...

  99. Hello, my name is Gerri Cantu and live in California. I was about 17 years old when I started to listen to Ralfi's , music. I was in LA at my cousins's home listening to his music when Ralfi album came up and I was taken by his voice, his words and simply touched a place in my heart. I only had his his albums back then, and time went by, I got married and always told my daughters of my favorite music and Ralfi was one of them. I finally purchase his CD's and played them for my daughters. It's magical when you hear those songs and how it brings you back. I love all his songs and play them often when I am alone because only I can relate how they make me feel. When I found out Ralfi Pagan passed on, I was stunned, why does God take such talented souls so quick? But, I need to believe that God wanted Ralfi to be his new angel and sing at a higher level. Thank God we have CD's, albums that we can still sit and hear that lovely voice. You are one lucky brother to still have a brother such at Ralfi Pagan!

  102. Most women don’t know this... but even if a man is attracted to you or even says he loves you...

...chances are he still feels something is missing.

Because there is a secret, emotional need hidden within his heart that he craves more than anything.

And in most cases, is not being met.

The problem is, if it’s not being met, his attention will inevitably wander until he finds a woman who can give it to him.

Maybe one in a thousand women knows how to do this instinctively, and they usually rise to unbelievable levels of influence and fame.

But most women, or men for that matter, don’t even know it exists.

On the other hand, when you have this 1 simple secret...

You won’t believe the shocking effect you have on the men in your life.

Here’s a video I discovered that shows you exactly what I’m talking about:

Here’s how: ==> He’ll give his heart to the first woman who does THIS... ]

    Best,

    Ana

  108. Hi everyone the reason I chose to respond to this post is because I met Ralfi when I was 16-years old, it was like a family BBQ of people he knew. everyone was drinking and smoking pot, but not him. I remember I was under a lot of stress because I had to be home before my uncle got home lol, and I had my daughter Deserie with me at the time. My friend who was suppose to give me a ride home did not want to leave the party yet. Ralphi over heard our conversation and asked me my name. We started talking and to make a lot story short he gave me and my daughter a ride home with one of my friends. We kept in touch and I remember the last time I had seen him he was leaving to Columbia and he told me he would be there for a while. About a week or two one of my aunts had told me he died, she told me the same story the news papers had reported. I remember telling her "its not true if he drank or got high he would have had many chances to have done it in front of me and he never did. He was a very respectful young man, ever time he came to see me we had to sit on my grandmothers porch and talk. I look back know and I can honestly say he had strong family values, he was truly a young man who knew what he wanted and drugs and alcohol were not part of his dream. I will never forget him.
